Applied Kinesiology (AK)
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a system that evaluates structural, chemical and emotional aspects of health. It uses manual muscle strength testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis to guide treatment.
AK is a non-invasive system of evaluating body function by:
· mapping out areas of muscle weakness or strength
· identifying regions of chronic muscle tension and/or fatigue
· finding specific muscle patterns that your body has adapted to as a result of injury or other stressors
The term “kinesiology” means the study of the mechanics of body movement. AK practitioners gather information about how your body is moving through posture, gait and muscle strength. These body movements help the practitioner pin point areas of dysfunction in your body. Once the problem is identified, the practitioner can customize the best therapy to correct it. AK integrates many complimentary therapies such as chiropractic adjustments, nutrition and cranial release to provide a holistic approach to healing and wellness care.
